Hamilton’s Seat is a viewpoint on the upper cliff path of the Giant’s Causeway, where you can see the spectacular coastline and the basalt columns from a different perspective. It is named after William Hamilton, a geologist who studied the causeway in the 18th century.
Hamilton’s Seat is located near Port na Tober, a small bay with a natural arch and a waterfall. It is one of the highlights of the red trail, which is a 4.5 km circular walk that follows the entire causeway coastline.
You can reach Hamilton’s Seat by walking from the visitor centre or taking the minibus to the causeway and then following the signs for the red trail. Hamilton’s Seat is a great place to enjoy the scenery and learn more about the geology and history of the Giant’s Causeway.
